UDN6118 8-Channel Relay/Peripheral Driver Array

The UDN6118 is an 8-channel relay/peripheral driver array IC, similar in role to the Darlington driver families also in this catalog, designed to switch relays and other inductive loads from logic-level signals.

UDN6118 – How It Works

Like the ULN2803 also in this catalog, each of its eight channels accepts a logic-level input and switches a higher-current output suited to driving relay coils, with built-in protection for the inductive kickback voltage generated when a relay coil is switched off.

It fills a similar role to the ULN2803 also in this catalog — always confirm the exact voltage/current rating a specific relay bank driving application needs before substituting between similar 8-channel driver parts.
