The 74374 is an 8-bit D-type flip-flop, positive-edge triggered — data is captured only at the moment the clock transitions from low to high. 3-state outputs. Used for data storage and synchronization in digital circuits.

74374 – How It Works

Unlike a transparent latch, this chip captures the input value only at the instant the clock transitions from low to high (the rising edge); any input change after that is ignored until the next pulse — giving precise synchronization between different stages of a circuit.
