The 24C32A is a 32Kbit (4K×8) serial EEPROM using the I²C interface, one of the larger-capacity members of the 24Cxx family, commonly found on RTC (real-time clock) modules like the DS3231 breakout boards.

24C32A – How It Works

Beyond the standard 24Cxx I²C read/write behavior, its larger capacity is well suited to storing more substantial data — logs, lookup tables, or configuration sets — and it’s frequently included alongside an RTC chip on the same module to give makers a bit of bonus non-volatile storage.

If you’ve ever used a DS3231 real-time clock module with Arduino, there’s a good chance this exact chip was already sitting on that board, ready to use for extra data storage without adding any new hardware.
