LA7848 TV Vertical Output + E/W Driver with Bus Control Support (Sanyo)

The LA7848 (Sanyo) is a vertical deflection plus east-west (E/W) pincushion correction driver IC for high-image-quality TVs and CRT displays, supporting bus-control-system signal processing.

LA7848 – How It Works

Like the LA78041 also in this catalog, it directly drives the vertical deflection yoke from a bus-control chip’s sawtooth waveform, but adds a parabolic waveform output specifically for driving the diode modulator block used in east-west pincushion geometry correction — combining two related deflection functions in one chip.

By combining vertical deflection with E/W pincushion correction in one chip, it represents a further integration step beyond the LA78041 also in this catalog, reducing the total part count needed in a complete bus-controlled TV chassis.
