The UT683KIT wire tracker is UNI-T’s rechargeable upgrade over the UT682D, tracking RJ11 telephone lines beyond 3000m and RJ45 network cables beyond 100m with a Li-battery-powered transmitter.

UT683KIT wire tracker – How It Works

Its transmitter runs on a 1050mAh rechargeable lithium battery charged over MicroUSB instead of disposable 9V cells, giving over 8 hours of continuous operation versus the receiver’s 5+ hours. It automatically identifies open circuits, short circuits, and polarity issues, and the receiver’s 3.5mm headset jack lets you trace quietly with earphones on a noisy job site.

CE and RoHS certified, it comes as a complete kit with RJ11/RJ45 adapter cables, an alligator-clip test lead, carrying case, and manual – ready to work without sourcing extra accessories.

Scanning Technique

Move the scanner slowly and in a consistent straight line, because sweeping too quickly is the most common reason a detector misses a target it was perfectly capable of finding. Scan the same area from two perpendicular directions to confirm a hit before drilling or cutting anything.

Be aware that damp material, foil-backed insulation, and dense reinforcement can all affect what the instrument reports, so treat every detection as a strong indication rather than a guarantee. Recalibrate on a clear section of the same surface whenever the readings start behaving inconsistently, as the instrument references that baseline while scanning.

أسلوب المسح
