The UT275 earth ground tester shares the UT273’s 28mm jaw and 0.01Ohm-resolution clamp-style earth resistance measurement, sitting in the same generation of UNI-T’s UT270 series.

UT275 earth ground tester – How It Works

Like the UT273, clamping its jaw around a grounding conductor measures loop resistance directly without disconnecting anything or driving auxiliary stakes, while a separate mode reads leakage current up to 30A on the same clamp. Its accuracy on the lower leakage-current range (0-299mA) is specifically rated at plus-or-minus 2.5% plus 2mA, giving confidence on smaller leakage readings as well as larger fault currents.

It carries the same auto range, data hold, and resistance limit alarm as its sibling models, built to IEC61010 safety standards for field electrical work.

Safe Testing Practice

Always confirm the circuit is fully de-energized and isolated before applying a test voltage, because insulation testers deliberately output high voltage and connecting one to a live circuit is dangerous to both the operator and the instrument. Discharge the tested equipment afterwards, since cables and windings can hold a charge long enough to deliver a shock minutes later.

Disconnect sensitive electronics from the circuit before testing, as the applied test voltage can damage semiconductors and surge protection devices that were never designed to see it. Record readings alongside ambient temperature and humidity, because insulation resistance varies significantly with both and a trend over time tells far more than a single absolute number.

ممارسات اختبار آمنة
