The UT136C+ digital multimeter is UNI-T’s temperature-capable member of the UT136+ family, shipping with a thermocouple accessory that its NCV-focused UT136B+ sibling doesn’t include.

UT136C+ digital multimeter – How It Works

Beyond the family’s shared AC/DC voltage and current measurement up to 1000V/10A, its included thermocouple lets you take temperature readings on the same large LCD used for electrical measurements. A fast 4-samples-per-second ADC and the ability to measure a 1mF capacitor in just 4 seconds keep testing quick even on larger passive components.

It shares the family’s CAT II 1000V / CAT III 600V safety rating and 2-meter drop resistance with its 3mm protective sleeve, along with a large LCD overload alarm to flag unsafe readings clearly.

Getting Accurate Readings

Before taking any measurement, confirm the test leads sit in the correct input jacks for the function selected, because leaving a lead in the current jack while measuring voltage is the single most common way a meter’s internal fuse gets blown. Start on the highest range when the expected value is unknown, then step down until the display shows useful resolution.

Keep the probe tips clean and check the leads for cracked insulation regularly, since a damaged lead is both a safety risk and a source of unstable readings. Replace the battery as soon as the low-battery indicator appears, because a weak cell can quietly skew resistance and continuity results well before the meter shuts down completely.
