UNI-T UT681C Cable Tester

UT681C Series Cable Testers The UT681C cable tester is the broader-coverage member of UNI-T’s UT681 family, testing RJ45/RJ11 cables plus BNC and HDMI/MINI-HDMI cables with the right adapter. UT681C cable tester – How It Works Beyond the RJ11/RJ45 telephone and Ethernet testing shared with the UT681L, its BNC and HDMI/MINI-HDMI adapter support extends coverage to coax and video cables in various test modes – useful for a technician who deals with more than just network and phone lines. Its LED status display and single-key operation auto-detect open, short, or crossover faults the same way across every supported cable type. For anyone standardizing on one cable tester across network, telephone, coax, and video work instead of carrying separate testers per cable type, this is the UT681 family member built for that. Key Features RJ45/RJ11 testing, plus BNC and HDMI/MINI-HDMI with adapter LED status display: open/short/crossover detection Single-key operation across multiple cable types 9V battery, auto power-off after 10 minutes Typical Applications Multi-cable-type technician toolkit (network, phone, coax, video) Ethernet, telephone, and coax cable verification HDMI and video cable continuity checks Specifications Cable Types: RJ45, RJ11, BNC, HDMI/MINI-HDMI (with adapter) Detection: Open, short, crossover circuit Operation: Single-key, LED status display Power: 9V battery Care and Compatibility Check the voltage and current rating of any accessory against the instrument it will be used with, because an accessory rated below the measurement category of the job it is used on is a genuine safety concern rather than a minor mismatch. Ratings printed on the part itself are the ones that matter. Inspect leads, clips, and connectors regularly for cracked insulation, bent pins, or loose crimps, since these are the parts that see the most physical handling and fail first. Store accessories coiled loosely in a case rather than wrapped tightly around the instrument, as sharp bends at the strain relief are what usually end a lead’s working life.
