UT261A phase sequence indicator – How It Works

Connection Notes

Connect the test leads to the three phases in the order the instrument expects and confirm all clips have solid metal contact, because a poor connection on one phase is a common reason a sequence indicator reports an incorrect or unstable result. Verify the supply is within the instrument’s rated voltage range before connecting.

Treat the result as a check to be confirmed rather than a single-shot verdict when motor direction matters, and repeat the measurement after any change to the wiring.
