The UT261A phase sequence indicator is a self-powered UNI-T tester that identifies three-phase power sequence and motor rotation direction without needing its own battery.

UT261A phase sequence indicator – How It Works

Connect its test leads with alligator clips to the three phase conductors and it draws its own operating power directly from the circuit under test, then its LCD displays the phase sequence and rotating magnetic field direction clearly. This tells you whether a motor will spin the correct way before you ever power it on, avoiding a costly reversed-rotation mistake.

Working across roughly 40V to 700V AC and 15-400Hz, drawing under 1mA, it’s built for a quick pre-commissioning check on industrial three-phase installations, drop-tested to 2 meters for field use.
