The ESP32 Development Board 30 pins is built around the ESP-WROOM-32 module, giving it a dual-core Xtensa LX6 processor clocked up to 240MHz alongside integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 — two full radios on one small board, which is the main reason this family replaced plain ESP8266 boards for anything that needs Bluetooth too.

ESP32 30-Pin – Core Specs

Behind the radios sits 4MB of SPI flash and 520KB of on-chip SRAM, enough headroom for WiFi-connected sensor logging or a small web server running directly on the chip. The 30-pin layout breaks out 25 GPIO pins plus 5V, 3V3 and GND, covering UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, DAC and PWM. A CP2102 USB-to-UART bridge plus automatic reset circuitry means the board programs directly over Micro USB with no external programmer, and capacitive touch inputs and a Hall sensor are also built into the ESP32 silicon itself.

Genuine CP2102 boards need the Silicon Labs CP210x driver installed once on Windows before the port appears in the Arduino IDE, after which uploading a sketch works the same as on any Arduino board.

Because both WiFi and Bluetooth run from the same chip, a single ESP32 board can connect to a home network for data logging while also pairing with a phone over Bluetooth for local configuration, which is a common pattern in DIY home automation builds.
