54645 Octal Bus Transceiver (Military-Grade)

The 54645 is an octal bus transceiver IC, the military/industrial-temperature version of the standard 74645 logic chip, providing 8-bit bidirectional bus buffering.

54645 – How It Works

Like the SAB8287 also in this catalog, it buffers and drives an 8-bit data bus in either direction under external control, with a direction-control pin and output-enable pin managing which way data flows and whether the outputs are active — a standard building block for bus-oriented digital system designs.

It fills the same fundamental bus-transceiver role as the SAB8287 also in this catalog, but with explicit direction-control and output-enable pins rather than the fixed transceiver behavior of the Intel-style part.
