The UT300C infrared thermometer upgrades the UT300A platform with adjustable emissivity from 0.10 to 1.0, letting it measure unusual materials the fixed-emissivity base model can’t handle accurately.

UT300C infrared thermometer – How It Works

Reflective or unusual-surface materials (shiny metal, certain plastics) don’t emit infrared radiation the same way standard surfaces do, so a fixed 0.95 emissivity setting like the base UT300A’s can misread them. The UT300C lets you dial in the correct emissivity value for the specific material you’re measuring, giving a genuinely accurate reading instead of a rough estimate.

It shares the rest of the UT300 platform – dual display, optional laser pointer, LCD backlight – so the emissivity control is a genuine upgrade, not a full redesign.
