UT337A carbon monoxide meter – How It Works

Its self-calibrated electrochemical sensor draws in air by diffusion sampling and responds within 60 seconds to reach 90% of a true reading, at plus/minus 5% (5ppm) accuracy and 1ppm resolution. Users can set both a high-concentration alarm (around 220ppm) and a low-concentration alarm (around 53ppm), so it warns at meaningfully different danger thresholds rather than a single fixed trigger.

Displaying current CO concentration alongside the peak reading at the same time, plus data hold and LCD backlight, it’s built for real safety monitoring rather than a quick single-point check.

Detection Technique

Move the probe slowly along joints and connections, because gas concentrations dissipate quickly in open air and a fast sweep will pass through a small leak without the sensor having time to respond. Work from the suspected area outward and always approach from upwind where possible.

Allow the sensor to warm up and zero itself in clean air before starting, since the instrument sets its baseline from the air around it at power-up. Replace or service the sensing element on the schedule the manufacturer specifies, as these sensors are consumable by design and gradually lose sensitivity long before they fail outright.

أسلوب الكشف

حرك المسبار ببطء على الوصلات والتوصيلات، لأن تركيزات الغاز بتتبدد بسرعة في الهوا المفتوح والمسح السريع هيعدي على تسريب صغير من غير ما الحساس ياخد وقت يستجيب. اشتغل من المنطقة المشكوك فيها للخارج ودايمًا اقترب من عكس اتجاه الهوا لو ممكن.
