UNI-T UT381 Lux Meter

UNI-T UT381 Lux Meter

The UT381 lux meter measures illuminance from 20 to 20,000 lux with a real-time clock and USB data logging, tracking light levels over time rather than a single spot reading.

UT381 lux meter – How It Works

Across its 20, 200, 2000, and 20000 lux ranges, accuracy runs plus/minus (3.0%+8) to (3.0%+20) depending on scale, and readings can also be read in candela and foot-candles. Its real-time clock timestamps logged data over USB, so you can review how light levels changed across a day or shift rather than relying on a single manual reading.

Sleep mode, Max/Min, data hold, and low-battery indication round out a tool built for extended monitoring sessions on a single 9V battery rather than quick one-off checks alone.

Key Features

• Lux range: 20-20,000 (4 sub-ranges)
• Real-time clock with USB data logging
• Lux, candela, and foot-candle units
• Sleep mode, Max/Min, data hold

Typical Applications

• Extended light-level monitoring and logging
• Workplace and facility illuminance compliance tracking
• Multi-unit illuminance measurement for reports

Specifications

• Range: 20-20,000 lux

• Logging: Real-time clock, USB connectivity
• Power: 1x 9V battery, 195x45x26mm

Measuring Light Levels

Hold the sensor flat and facing the light source in the plane where the measurement actually matters, usually the working surface, because tilting the sensor changes the reading substantially. Keep your own shadow and any reflective clothing out of the measurement area, as both influence the value more than most users expect.

Let the sensor settle for a few seconds after a large change in light level, and keep the diffuser cap clean, since dust and fingerprints on it scatter light and pull readings low. When comparing measurements over time, take them at the same points and under the same conditions so the numbers are genuinely comparable.

UNI-T UT381 Lux Meter

UT381 lux meter –
