UT345C LPG Tank Level Checker

UT345C LPG Tank Level Checker

The UT345C LPG level checker from UNI-T is a discontinued pen-shaped ultrasonic gas level detector for 8-14 inch steel or aluminum propane/butane tanks, with no accessories needed.

UT345C LPG level checker – How It Works

Press its probe vertically against different spots on the tank surface and read the LED color: green means liquefied gas is present at that height, red means it isn’t, and flashing green/red shows the measurement is active. Sweep it up the tank from bottom to top and the point where green switches to red marks roughly how full the tank is – all without moving or tilting the cylinder.

A built-in flashlight helps in dim storage areas, and its pen-like 28x32x143mm body running on two AAA batteries makes it easy to carry between multiple tanks.

Key Features

• LED-based liquid level detection (green/red)
• Fits 8-14 inch steel or aluminum tanks
• No accessories or tank movement needed
• Built-in flashlight, pen-shaped design

Typical Applications

• LPG tank level checking without moving cylinders
• Propane and butane storage tank monitoring
• Quick gas-remaining estimation

Specifications

• Tank Compatibility: 8-14 inch (200-350mm) diameter
• Indication: LED (green/red)
• Operating Range: -15C to 40C, up to 85% humidity
• Power: 2x AAA (1.5V)

Using the Level Checker

Hold the sensor flat against a clean section of the cylinder wall and move it slowly from bottom to top, because the transition the instrument detects is narrow and a fast sweep passes straight over it. Avoid seams, welds, paint blisters, and any label, as all of them interfere with the reading.

Check on a cylinder that has been standing undisturbed for a few minutes, since liquid sloshing after movement blurs the boundary the tool is looking for. Repeating the sweep two or three times and taking the consistent result is the simplest way to be confident in the level indication.

UT345C LPG level checker –
