TIP132 transistor

The TIP132 transistor is an NPN Darlington power transistor in a TO-220 package, rated 8A collector current with a 100V collector-base rating, complementary to the PNP TIP137.

How It Works

Like the TIP131, the TIP132 transistor is a monolithic NPN Darlington pair, but built for a higher collector-base voltage rating (100V), giving it more headroom in higher-voltage switching and linear applications. A small base current is amplified twice over — once by each internal transistor stage — so the part can switch or amplify large collector currents (up to 8A) from a tiny control signal. It is designed as the NPN half of a complementary pair with the PNP TIP137, useful in push-pull output stages.
