2N6505 SCR

The 2N6505 SCR is a silicon controlled rectifier in a TO-220 package, rated 25A RMS / 100V, used for AC power control in motor, heating, and lighting circuits.

How It Works

The 2N6505 SCR conducts current in one direction once triggered by its gate (a moderate 30mA trigger current at up to 1.5V), and continues conducting until the current drops below its 40mA holding current or the AC waveform crosses zero. With a substantial 25A RMS current rating and 100V blocking voltage in a rugged TO-220 package, it’s built for higher-power AC control tasks than the small TO-92 sensitive-gate SCRs, such as controlling substantial motor, heating, or lighting loads.
