TIP102 transistor

The TIP102 transistor is an NPN Darlington power transistor in a TO-220 package, rated 100V / 8A with very high current gain (hFE ~2500), complementary to the PNP TIP107.

How It Works

The TIP102 transistor is a monolithic NPN Darlington pair with a very high typical current gain of hFE 2500, meaning an extremely small base current can control up to 8A of collector current at up to 100V. Its DC current gain remains high (1000-20000 range) across a wide operating window, giving designers flexibility. As the NPN half of a complementary pair with the PNP TIP107, it’s commonly used in medium-power linear and switching applications where a small control signal must drive a substantial load.
