How It Works

IDC stands for Insulation-Displacement Connection — the mating IDC ribbon-cable connector doesn’t require stripped wires at all; sharp internal blades pierce through the ribbon cable’s insulation and make contact with each conductor when the connector is pressed/crimped onto it, making it fast and reliable to terminate multi-conductor flat cables without individual soldering.
