MC-31 – How It Works

Because it’s Normal Open, the circuit stays open (no connection) whenever the magnet is far away, and closes only when the magnet moves within its roughly 15-20mm sensing range — the reverse logic of an NC sensor like the MC-36. This matters in practice because a project’s code needs to match the exact sensor type installed: reading “closed = door open” instead of “closed = door shut” is a common bug when swapping between NO and NC hardware without updating the logic.
