54154 4-to-16 Line Decoder/Demultiplexer (Military-Grade)

The 54154 is a 4-to-16 line decoder/demultiplexer IC, the military/industrial-temperature version of the standard 74154 logic chip, decoding a 4-bit binary address into one of 16 output lines.

54154 – How It Works

Like the smaller 74155 also in this catalog but decoding a full 4-bit address instead of 2-bit, it activates exactly one of its 16 output lines based on the binary address applied to its four select inputs, with enable inputs allowing the whole decoder to be turned on/off or used as a demultiplexer for a single data signal.

Its wider 4-bit address decoding gives it 16 output lines compared to the 4 lines of the 74155 also in this catalog, making it suited to designs needing to select among a larger number of devices or memory blocks.
