LA7837 – How It Works

Like the TDA1675A and LA78041 also in this catalog, it drives the vertical yoke coil, but with a built-in 50/60Hz vertical size control circuit, on-chip sawtooth generator, driver stage, and thermal protection all combined — delivering up to 1.8Ap-p deflection current suited to portable through mid-size televisions.

Compared to the LA7838 also in this catalog (a very closely related part), always confirm the exact model number a specific TV chassis service manual specifies, since Sanyo produced several closely-numbered variants in this deflection IC family.
