SN7447 BCD to 7-Segment Decoder/Driver (Open-Collector)

The SN7447 converts a 4-bit BCD input into the pattern needed to drive a common-anode 7-segment display, using open-collector outputs.

7447 – How It Works

It’s the common-anode counterpart to the 7448 (also in this catalog) — its open-collector outputs sink current to light each segment, which is the opposite drive polarity a common-anode display needs compared to the 7448’s common-cathode drive.

Mixing this up with the 7448 (common-cathode) is a classic beginner mistake — always match the decoder chip’s output polarity to the display’s common terminal type before wiring.

الخلط بينها وبين 7448 (كاثود مشترك) غلطة كلاسيكية عند المبتدئين — لازم دايمًا تطابق قطبية خرج شريحة فك التشفير مع نوع الطرف المشترك في الشاشة قبل التوصيل.
