The TDA2005 is a dual audio power amplifier IC capable of up to 20W per channel in stereo mode or higher power in bridge mode, a higher-power evolution of the TDA2004 also in this catalog.

TDA2005 – How It Works

Like the TDA2004, it can operate in stereo mode (two independent channels) or be reconfigured for bridge-tied-load operation for higher single-channel power, with the same automotive-grade short-circuit, thermal, and load-dump protection — a very popular choice for higher-power car audio and portable stereo applications.

Its configurable stereo/bridge operation gives it more flexibility than the fixed-configuration TDA2004 also in this catalog, letting the same chip serve either as a stereo amplifier or a single higher-power bridge amplifier.
