UT276A earth ground tester – How It Works

Clamp its 32mm jaw around a grounding conductor and it measures resistance down to a 0.001Ohm resolution without disconnecting the ground line or needing auxiliary test electrodes – a genuine convenience over traditional 3-pole ground testing methods. It also reads leakage current from 0mA to 30A, completes a single measurement in about 1 second, and stores up to 99 readings with visual/audible alarms for out-of-range results.

Its double-insulation design and effective environmental-noise suppression make it built for repeated outdoor field use, running on four 1.5V AA batteries with auto-ranging and a backlit 47×28.5mm LCD.

Care and Practical Notes
