SN74157 SMD Quad 2-Input Multiplexer

The SN74157 (SMD package) is the surface-mount version of the quad 2-input multiplexer — functionally identical to the DIP version, packaged for compact PCB assembly.

74157 – How It Works

Same internal logic as the through-hole part: a single select line switches an entire 4-bit word between two sources — just in a smaller footprint suited to automated SMD assembly.

Choose this SMD variant specifically for automated pick-and-place assembly or when board space is at a premium, otherwise it behaves identically to the DIP version.
