The 74122 is a single retriggerable monostable multivibrator IC with a clear input, generating a precisely-timed output pulse from an external resistor-capacitor timing network.

74122 – How It Works

Like one section of the 74123 also in this catalog but as a single unit with additional gating inputs and a clear function, it can be retriggered before its timing period expires to extend the output pulse, or forcibly reset via the clear input regardless of the current pulse state.

Compared to the dual 74123 also in this catalog, this single-section part with extra gating and clear inputs offers more control flexibility for designs needing just one precisely-controlled timing pulse.
