5474 Dual D-Type Flip-Flop (Military-Grade)

The 5474 is a dual positive-edge-triggered D-type flip-flop IC, the military/industrial-temperature version of the standard 7474 logic chip.

5474 – How It Works

Like the 74109 also in this catalog, each of its two independent flip-flops captures the logic level at its D input on the rising clock edge, with individual asynchronous set/clear inputs — a fundamental building block for registers, counters, and synchronous logic designs, in a military-temperature-rated package.

It’s functionally identical to a standard 7474, so the military-temperature grading is the only real distinction — safe to treat as a drop-in equivalent in non-extreme-temperature repair work.
