UT60S auto multimeter – How It Works

Its 9999-count display auto-ranges across voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, duty cycle, diode, and continuity, with automatic recognition of which input jack a probe is plugged into to reduce measurement mistakes. Non-contact voltage detection lets you sense a live conductor before touching a probe to it, and an automatic power-saving mode extends battery life up to 300 hours in sleep mode.

Its double-injection housing and CAT II 1000V / CAT III 600V safety rating with overvoltage and overcurrent alarm indication keep it durable and safe for demanding field and workshop use.

Getting Accurate Readings

Before taking any measurement, confirm the test leads sit in the correct input jacks for the function selected, because leaving a lead in the current jack while measuring voltage is the single most common way a meter’s internal fuse gets blown. Start on the highest range when the expected value is unknown, then step down until the display shows useful resolution.

Keep the probe tips clean and check the leads for cracked insulation regularly, since a damaged lead is both a safety risk and a source of unstable readings. Replace the battery as soon as the low-battery indicator appears, because a weak cell can quietly skew resistance and continuity results well before the meter shuts down completely.
