UT383BT

UT383BT

The UT383BT light meter is a Bluetooth-connected lux meter from UNI-T measuring 0-199,900 lux, syncing readings to UNI-T’s iENV mobile app for logging and analysis.

UT383BT light meter – How It Works

Point its sensor at a light source and it reads illuminance in lux or foot-candles with a 0.5-second sampling time, while Bluetooth connectivity streams that data live to the iENV app on a phone – letting you log readings over time, export data, or monitor a space remotely instead of writing numbers down by hand. Max/Min and data-hold functions capture peak brightness moments or freeze a single reading for recording.

At just 118g and running on 3 AA batteries, it’s a compact, portable tool for anyone checking light levels for photography, plant growing, or general workplace lighting assessment.

Measuring Light Levels

Hold the sensor flat and facing the light source in the plane where the measurement actually matters, usually the working surface, because tilting the sensor changes the reading substantially. Keep your own shadow and any reflective clothing out of the measurement area, as both influence the value more than most users expect.

Let the sensor settle for a few seconds after a large change in light level, and keep the diffuser cap clean, since dust and fingerprints on it scatter light and pull readings low. When comparing measurements over time, take them at the same points and under the same conditions so the numbers are genuinely comparable.

UT383BT light meter –
