DS9637A Dual Differential Line Receiver (Schottky, RS-422/423)

The DS9637A (Texas Instruments/National) is a Schottky dual differential line receiver IC, designed to satisfy the EIA RS-422 and RS-423 standards for reliable digital data communication.

DS9637 – How It Works

Its two independent channels can receive either single-ended or differential, unipolar or bipolar transmission signals, with built-in ±35mV hysteresis for noise immunity and Schottky TTL-compatible outputs, running from a single 5V supply — a standard building block for RS-422/RS-423 serial communication receiver circuits.

Unlike the single-ended RS-232-focused 75154 also in this catalog, RS-422/RS-423 differential signaling (which this chip receives) is designed for longer cable runs and better noise immunity in industrial environments.
