CNX62 High-Voltage Optocoupler (NXP/Philips)

The CNX62 (NXP/Philips) is a high-voltage optocoupler IC, providing 5300Vrms of electrical isolation between its LED input and phototransistor output.

CNX62 – How It Works

Like other optocouplers, it transfers a signal across an isolation barrier using light, but with a much higher isolation voltage rating (5300Vrms) than general-purpose optocouplers like the PC817 also in this catalog, making it suited specifically to applications with dangerous high-voltage sources needing extra-safe isolation margins.

When a design specifically calls for extra-high isolation voltage (well beyond the 80V rating of the PC817 also in this catalog), this part is the correct choice rather than a general-purpose optocoupler.
