SN74543 Octal Registered Transceiver

The SN74543 is an octal registered bus transceiver — it contains D-type latches on both the A-side and B-side, letting data be stored (registered) while flowing in either direction across the bus.

74543 – How It Works

Separate Latch Enable and Output Enable controls for each side let a designer independently choose whether data passes through live or gets captured and held — useful in bus interface designs that need to buffer data temporarily rather than just pass it through instantly.

Choose it over a plain 74245 transceiver specifically when a design needs to temporarily hold data on the bus rather than just pass it through live.
