MOC8012 High-Speed CMOS Optocoupler

The MOC8012 is a high-speed optocoupler IC using CMOS detector technology, part of the same general MOC81xx optocoupler family as the MOC8102 also in this catalog.

MOC8012 – How It Works

Each channel combines a high-speed AlGaAs LED driven through a CMOS buffer with a CMOS detector IC (integrated photodiode, trans-impedance amplifier, and voltage comparator with output driver), achieving very low power consumption together with fast 60ns propagation delay — significantly faster than a standard phototransistor optocoupler like the PC817 also in this catalog.

Its CMOS-based detector gives it much faster switching than the phototransistor-output MOC8102 also in this catalog, making it the better choice specifically for higher-speed digital signal isolation needs.
