The M51354AP (Mitsubishi) is a television intermediate-frequency (IF) system IC, processing the vision and/or sound IF signal chain in analog TV receivers.

M51354 – How It Works

Like other TV IF system chips, it amplifies and demodulates the relatively weak IF signal coming from the tuner stage, recovering the video and/or audio information needed by the rest of the television’s processing circuitry.

It occupies the same functional role in a TV signal chain as the TDA2549 also in this catalog — different manufacturer, same basic IF-processing job in the receiver.
