The HCNW2611 (Avago/Broadcom, SOP-8) is a high-speed, high-CMR (common-mode rejection) optocoupler — a GaAsP LED and integrated high-gain photodetector combining for reliable signal transfer across an isolation barrier.

HCNW2611 – How It Works

Its high common-mode rejection (10kV/µs minimum at 1000V) makes it resistant to fast voltage transients on the isolated side, while its 10MBd typical speed and TTL/LSTTL compatibility make it fast enough for real digital communication links, not just simple on/off signaling.

Choose it over a general-purpose optocoupler like the CNY17 (also in this catalog) specifically when a design needs to isolate a fast digital data stream rather than just a simple slow on/off signal.
