This 16A, 500V ceramic fuse (10mm x 38mm cartridge) is an over-current protection device housed in a ceramic body, chosen for higher interrupting capacity than an equivalent glass fuse.

How It Works

Inside the ceramic tube, a thin fuse element (often packed in sand for arc-quenching) melts and breaks the circuit once current exceeds its 16A rating for long enough, protecting the downstream circuit from overload or short-circuit damage.
