UT-L35 test leads – How It Works

The set pairs a short 1.6m red+green lead for close-range testing with dedicated 5m, 10m, and 20m single leads, letting you reach a distant earth stake or remote test point during an insulation or earth-resistance test without needing an extension cable spliced on. Safe Testing Practice

Always confirm the circuit is fully de-energized and isolated before applying a test voltage, because insulation testers deliberately output high voltage and connecting one to a live circuit is dangerous to both the operator and the instrument. Discharge the tested equipment afterwards, since cables and windings can hold a charge long enough to deliver a shock minutes later.

Disconnect sensitive electronics from the circuit before testing, as the applied test voltage can damage semiconductors and surge protection devices that were never designed to see it.
