Raspberry Pi 4 Case with 30mm Fan

The Raspberry Pi 4 case with a 30mm fan mount adds active cooling to a board that runs noticeably hotter under sustained load than earlier Pi generations, since the BCM2711 chip in the Pi 4 can throttle its clock speed once thermal limits are reached without adequate cooling.

Pi 4 Fan Case – Core Specs

A 30mm fan mounts directly over the SoC, usually powered from the GPIO header’s 5V and GND pins or a dedicated fan connector on some case designs, pulling heat away faster than passive heatsinks alone can manage. Cutouts remain aligned with the Pi 4’s dual micro-HDMI ports, USB 3.0/2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet jack, USB-C power input and the 40-pin GPIO header, so normal peripherals and HATs stay usable with the case and fan installed. Because the fan draws current from the Pi’s own 5V rail, a marginal power supply already struggling to meet the Pi 4’s recommended 5.1V/3A spec will struggle further once the fan is added.
