The U807DC (RFT, East Germany) is a MOS infrared remote control transmitter circuit, functionally comparable to the western SAB3021, generating the coded IR signal a remote control sends to its receiver.

U807DC – How It Works

Like other remote-control transmitter encoder chips, it scans a button matrix and, when a button is pressed, generates a unique coded signal that modulates an infrared LED, allowing a receiving device to identify and execute the corresponding command — East German-manufactured equivalent to the more commonly seen western encoder chips of its era.

Like the U107D also in this catalog, it’s part of the “U”-prefixed VEB Mikroelektronik product lineage from East Germany, offering a historically accurate replacement option for restoring DDR-era consumer electronics.
