Getting Clean Joints

Let the iron reach full temperature before touching a joint, because soldering with a not-quite-hot tip is the most common cause of a dull, grainy joint that looks attached but conducts poorly. Heat the joint itself and feed solder onto it rather than melting solder on the tip and carrying it across.

Tin the tip with fresh solder right after heating and again before switching off, since a bare hot tip oxidizes within minutes and loses much of its ability to transfer heat. Wipe on a damp sponge or brass wool between joints instead of letting old flux and solder bake onto the tip, as that residue is what shortens tip life faster than anything else.

سيب المكواة توصل لحرارتها الكاملة قبل ما تلمس نقطة، لأن اللحام بطرف مش سخن كفاية أشهر سبب لنقطة باهتة وخشنة شكلها متوصلة بس بتوصل كهربا بشكل سيئ. سخن النقطة نفسها وغذي اللحام عليها بدل ما تدوب اللحام على الطرف وتشيله.

قصدر الطرف بلحام جديد فورًا بعد التسخين وتاني قبل الإطفاء، لأن الطرف الساخن العاري بيتأكسد في دقايق وبيفقد جزء كبير من قدرته على نقل الحرارة. امسح على إسفنجة مبلولة أو صوف نحاس بين النقط بدل ما تسيب الفلكس واللحام القديم يتحرقوا على الطرف.
