Lithium Battery Spot Welding Fixture

Description Adaptive lithium battery holder for spot welding. Longitudinal stiffening ribs have been added to the design to reduce plastic usage; these ribs also serve as guides. The device allows for the secure clamping of battery cells prior to assembling them into packs via spot welding. By combining parts of different lengths (for 5, 7, and 9 cells), you can create a holder for assembling packs of 18650 cells ranging in size from 5×5 to 9×9 cells (including 5×7, 7×7, 5×9, and 7×9 configurations). This holder can also be used for 21700-size cells. For printing flat parts, a layer height of 0.16 mm was used without supports—note that the overhang layer must be printed across the part. A wall thickness of 3 layers was sufficient in my case, with a 20% infill density using the gyroid pattern. For long parts, the bed temperature can be increased for more reliable adhesion. When printing plastic nuts, a method of reinforcement with metal nuts is used—at a certain height, printing stops to install the embedded nuts, after which printing should continue. The following metal components are required for the set: – M5 nut (no more than 4 mm high) – 4 pcs. – M5*20 bolt (thread length 20 mm) – 4 pcs. – Washer D=20 mm, d=8.5 mm, h=1.6 mm – 4 pcs.
