This is 20mm diameter heat shrink tubing, 1 meter, Black, a polyolefin sleeve that shrinks tightly around a wire, splice, or connector when heated, suited to larger cable bundles, connector bodies, and mechanical strain-relief applications.

How It Works

Before shrinking, the tubing is manufactured, expanded, and then “frozen” in that expanded state — slipping it over a wire or joint and applying heat (from a heat gun, lighter, or soldering iron tip held at a distance) releases the stored tension, causing the tubing to shrink down to roughly half its original diameter and grip tightly around whatever it surrounds. This provides electrical insulation, physical protection, strain relief, and a professional, tidy finish over soldered joints, splices, or connector bodies — always choose a pre-shrink diameter slightly larger than what it needs to cover, since it cannot expand back once shrunk.
