SWM-10 Portable Intelligent Color Screen – How It Works

Rather than applying continuous heat like a soldering iron, the welder discharges a very short, high-current pulse (typically a fraction of a second) through a pair of welding probes pressed against the nickel strip and cell terminal, fusing the metal together through localized resistance heating before the pulse ends, well before the heat has time to conduct into and damage the cell itself. Rated at portable, color-screen controlled, it delivers enough weld energy for the nickel strip thicknesses commonly used in 18650/21700 pack building, and most models in this class offer adjustable power or pulse-time settings so the weld strength can be tuned to the specific nickel strip gauge in use rather than applying a single fixed setting to every job.
