BMS 5S 100A Balanced & Protected Battery Board

The BMS 5S 100A protection board is built for a 5-series lithium pack (nominal 18.5V, fully charged around 21V), combining active cell balancing with overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent and short-circuit protection in one small circuit board.

BMS 5S 100A – How It Works

During charging, the balancing circuit bleeds a small current from cells that reach full charge slightly ahead of the others, keeping all 5 cells within a tight voltage window instead of letting one weak cell drift and eventually fail early. The protection MOSFETs disconnect the pack entirely if any single cell exceeds its safe upper voltage, drops below a safe minimum, or if the load draws more than the board’s rated 100A, and a dedicated short-circuit trip reacts within microseconds if the output is ever accidentally bridged. A 100A rating is squarely industrial-hobbyist territory, and needs substantial external copper or nickel strip to actually deliver that current without excess heat.

Protection thresholds follow standard lithium-ion BMS practice documented in UFine Battery’s lithium protection circuit guide. Because this board balances but does not charge the pack itself, it must be paired with a charger matched to the pack’s full 5S voltage, not a single-cell charger like a TP4056, which would only ever charge one cell in the series string.

Because a failed protection MOSFET can allow a cell to overcharge unnoticed, it’s worth periodically checking pack voltage with a separate multimeter rather than trusting the board’s protection blindly forever.

أثناء الشحن، دائرة التوازن بتسحب تيار صغير من الخلايا اللي بتوصل للشحن الكامل قبل الباقي شوية، وده بيحافظ على كل الـ5 خلية في نطاق جهد ضيق بدل ما خلية ضعيفة تنجرف وتتعطل بدري. مقاومات MOS الحماية بتفصل الحزمة بالكامل لو أي خلية واحدة تخطت أقصى جهد آمن، أو نزلت تحت أقل حد آمن، أو لو الحمل سحب أكتر من 100 أمبير المقننة، ودائرة قصر مخصصة بترد في أجزاء من الميكروثانية لو الخرج اتوصل غلط. تقنين 100 أمبير في نطاق الهواة الصناعي، ومحتاج نحاس خارجي أو شريط نيكل كبير عشان فعلًا يوصل التيار ده من غير حرارة زايدة.

حدود الحماية بتتبع ممارسات BMS القياسية لليثيوم أيون الموثقة في دليل UFine Battery لدائرة حماية الليثيوم. وبما إن البورد ده بيوازن بس مش بيشحن الحزمة نفسها، لازم يتقرن بشاحن مطابق لجهد الحزمة الكامل 5S، مش شاحن خلية واحدة زي TP4056، اللي هيشحن خلية واحدة بس في السلسلة.

وبما إن ترانزستور حماية معطل ممكن يخلي خلية تتشحن زيادة من غير ما تلاحظ، يستاهل تتأكد من جهد الحزمة بمقياس منفصل بين فترة وأخرى بدل ما تثق في حماية البورد بشكل أعمى للأبد.
