Battery Capacity Tester – How It Works

The module runs a full charge-discharge cycle on the inserted cell (typically between roughly 2.8V start and 4.2V full charge, stopping discharge around 2.5-3.5V depending on settings), tracking the exact amount of energy delivered to calculate real capacity across a 0-99999mAh measurement range, with a typical accuracy of about 10%. Internal resistance is measured using the DC two-wire method, giving a second, independent health indicator since a cell’s internal resistance rises as it ages or degrades even if its rated capacity looks acceptable. Many versions of this tester support several independent channels for testing multiple cells at once and connect via USB Type-C, with results shown on an onboard display covering resistance, capacity, voltage, current and power together.
