This is a Wireless mouse, a standard pointing device for desktop and laptop computers.

How It Works

It connects via a wireless RF receiver (typically a small 2.4GHz USB dongle) rather than a cable, giving freedom of movement without a tethered cord, at the cost of needing batteries or periodic recharging to keep it powered. An internal optical (or laser) sensor tracks the mouse’s movement across a surface and translates it into cursor movement on screen, while its buttons and scroll wheel provide click and scrolling input.
