TIP135 transistor

The TIP135 transistor is a PNP Darlington power transistor in a TO-220 package, rated 60V / 8A with very high current gain (hFE 1000-15000), complementary to the NPN TIP130.

How It Works

The TIP135 transistor is a monolithic PNP Darlington pair with an exceptionally wide current gain range (hFE 1000 to 15000), meaning a truly tiny base current can control up to 8A of collector current at up to 60V, while dissipating up to 70W. This extreme sensitivity makes it well suited to applications where the control signal is very weak but still needs to switch a substantial load, and as the PNP complement to the NPN TIP130, it’s commonly paired in complementary high-current switching and amplifier designs.
