TD62083AP Darlington Driver IC (Toshiba)

The TD62083AP (Toshiba) is an 8-channel Darlington transistor array driver IC, used to switch higher-current loads like relays, solenoids, or LED arrays from a low-current logic signal.

TD62083 – How It Works

Each of its 8 channels contains a Darlington transistor pair, which multiplies current gain to let a small logic-level input current control a much larger output current, with built-in clamp diodes for driving inductive loads (like relay coils) safely without external protection diodes.

It fills the same functional role as the well-known ULN2803 Darlington array — a small logic signal from a microcontroller pin can directly control a relay, motor, or lamp far beyond what the pin could drive on its own.
