The 1.5M ohm 0.25W resistor is a fixed axial-lead resistor rated at a quarter watt, an E12 preferred value that crosses into the megohm range for very-high-impedance applications.

How It Works

At 1,500,000Ω, this resistor limits current or drops voltage per Ohm’s law, and as an E12 value it’s manufactured and stocked in higher volume than an arbitrary in-between resistance, commonly used in high-impedance sensing and biasing circuits where minimal current draw is essential. With a standard ±5% tolerance, its actual resistance falls between 1,425,000Ω and 1,575,000Ω, in a compact axial package.
